Professor Wong is a professional architect, with expertise in green architecture and sustainable development. His innovative green projects include the pioneering public housing estate Verbena Heights and HK’s first zero carbon building CIC-ZCP. Between 2012-2022, he served as HKSAR’s “Environment Minister”, leading HK towards carbon neutrality before 2050. He now teaches in various universities on sustainability-related topics, and chairs Wu Zhi Qiao (Bridge to China) Charitable Foundation (無止橋慈善基金) which focuses on “rural revitalisation x youth development x low-carbon transformation” in both HK and the Mainland. In 2024, his book Hong Kong Stories in the Journey towards Carbon Neutrality (邁向碳中和香港人和事) was published.
